Configure global defaults

How to set your firm-wide application settings in eimmigration

Administrators can set default rules that shape how eimmigration works for everyone in your firm. From time zones to numbering formats and password rules, these settings ensure consistency across all users.

When to complete this task

Set your global defaults during initial setup. Revisit if your firm’s policies or workflows change.

Basic steps

  • Go to Admin Tools → Application Settings
  • Configure default country, time zone, numbering formats
  • Adjust form and security settings
  • Adjust case/client default settings
  • Changes need to be saved (Top Left Corner of General Settings)

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Navigate to Your eimmigration Portal URL
Step 2: Click Administrative Tools in Top Right corner
  • Hover over Cog icon in top right corner
  • Click Administrative Tools
Step 3: Click Application Settings At the Bottom Left of Administrative Tools
Step 4: Under General Settings
  • Set Time Zone
  • Date Format Preferences
  • Reminder Notifications
Step 5: Under Form Settings
  • Choose whether to enable Auto Reduce Font
  • Form Always Override
  • Choose to only populate custom data on a form when the fields are blank
Step 6: Under Security Settings
  • Enable/Disable strong password policy
  • Require password change on first login
  • Set max number of login attempts 
  • Number of days before a password expires
Step 7:  Under Case Settings
  • Generating Case #s
    • Disable/Enable auto-generating case #s
    • Set the next autogenerated case #
    • Set the case numbering format to match your own internal operational workflows
  • Select Case Status Notifications 
  • Enable/disable case status change reasons edit-ability 
    • Also can enable making it mandatory
  • Choose whether your caseworkers are automatically linked to the main party of the case 
  • Enable whether the next process is automatically started
  • Make case comment types mandatory
  • Hide case process steps in the client portal 
     
Step 8: Under Client Settings
  • Set Case Default Birth Country
  • Configure
    • Auto generation of client numbers as well as the next autogenerated client number
    • Client number formatting to match your current workflows/internal client system
  • Select the default new client status
    • Prospect
    • Active
    • Archived 
  • Formatting, SMS, Default Comment Type
    • Enforce formatting of
      • Phone Numbers
      • First, Middle, Last names
      • SSN
    • Force SMS messaging is enabled by default
    • Make a comment type mandatory
Step 8: Click Save Before Exiting (Top Left of Settings)
